Orthos Potions and how to farm them quickly

Introduction to Eureka Orthos (6) Orthos Potions are an item that can only be used inside EurekaOrthos. They give the user a health regeneration effect for 30 seconds, andhave a 15 second cooldown, allowing them to be permenantly in effect ifnecessary. These potions are extremely helpful in party runs, but are requiredfor survival in solo runs, especially on jobs with few or no other ways ofhealing.

20 Orthos Potions can be bought with 1 Introduction to Eureka Orthos (7) Orthos Aetherpool Fragment from theSynthesis Node in Mor Dhona.Fragments can rarely be found inside Introduction to Eureka Orthos (8)Bronze Coffers in Eureka Orthos. You also get a guaranteed one after the floor 30 boss.

In order to farm Fragments efficiently, you should enter the dungeon onfloor 21 with either a matched party, or a fixed party of four players. From here, defeat the floor 30 boss as quickly as possible in orderto obtain the guaranteed drop, though be sure to open any Bronze Coffersyou find along the way. Upon clearing the floorset, delete the save fileand re-enter, repeating as needed.

If you wish to attempt a solo clear of Eureka Orthos in order to obtain theIntroduction to Eureka Orthos (9) All by Eurekaself II achievement and the Once and Future Queen/Kingtitle, you should ideally have at least 200 Orthos Potions before beginning. While you may find yourself needing more potions than this across the entirerun, you will be picking up more Potsherds along the waythat can be exchanged for pots between floorsets.

Players will be restricted to the use of anIntroduction to Eureka Orthos (10) Orthos Aetherpool Armand Introduction to Eureka Orthos (11) Orthos Aetherpool Armourwhile inside Eureka Orthos. In addition to gaining levels, players must enhance these items asthey progress through the dungeon by opening Introduction to Eureka Orthos (12)Silver Coffers, up to the cap of +99 for each item.

In order to farm Aetherpool efficiently, you should enter the dungeon onfloor 21 with either a matched party, or a fixed party of four players, and openas many Introduction to Eureka Orthos (13)Silver Coffers as possible. Upon clearing the floorset, delete thesave file and re-enter, repeating as needed.

You can exchange 10 aetherpool from both your Arm and Armour for anIntroduction to Eureka Orthos (14) Orthos Aetherpool Grip at the Synthesis Node. You can then exchangethree Grips (total 30/30 Aetherpool) for an i620 Orthos Weapon, allowingyou to glamour the appearance of low level Orthos Atherpool Arms to regularweapons outside of Eureka Orthos. By later trading in your Orthos weapon, plusan additional six Grips (total 90/90 Atherpool), you can obtain an i625Enaretos weapon, allowing you to glamour the appearanceof high level Orthos Atherpool Arms to regular weapons outside of EurekaOrthos. Unlike other Deep Dungeon weapons, these can be dyedto change the colour of their internal lighting effect.

Dread Beasts in Eureka Orthos

Throughout the Deep Dungeon, there is a small chance that unique enemieswill spawn. These mobs have a significant amount of HP, incrediblypowerful attacks, and are immune to knockback, which prevents them from beingkilled with a Pomnader of Dread. However, successfully slaying one will grant all party members a 30 minute buff and apiece of the Accursed Horde.

Dread BeastAbilitiesBuff Effect
Lamia QueenGrants a stacking Regeneration effect to itself once pulled. It has a telegraphed point-blank AoE witha short cast time, and an omnidirectional gaze mechanic with a long cast time.Grants a Introduction to Eureka Orthos (15)Regeneration effect to all party members for 30 minutes when defeated.
Meracydian CloneCasts Berserk to grant itself Damage Up, which can be interrupted. Below 40% HP, it casts a massivetelegraphed AoE with a long cast time.Grants a 30%Introduction to Eureka Orthos (16)Damage Up effect to all party members for 30 minutes when defeated.
Demi-CochmaGrants a stacking Vulnerability Down effect to itself once pulled. At low HP, it casts a massive sacrificial AoEwith a long cast time.Grants a Introduction to Eureka Orthos (17)30% Vulnerability Down effect to all party members for 30 minutes when defeated.

7.

Soloing Eureka Orthos

While clearing Eureka Orthos with a full party of four players is usuallyfaster, safer and easier than entering alone, clearing the dungeon by yourselffrom beginning to end is not only possible, but rewards players with a rare title,Once and Future King/Queen, upon clearing floor 100 with no deaths on arun that started from floor 1.

Clearing Eureka Orthos solo relies entirely on a player's individual skill, and can therefore be a welcome change of pace for those who are used to thestandard eight player content of Savage and Ultimate raids. However, it iseasy for some players to become frustrated or burnt out when attempting to clear, and being able to take a break for as long as needed before returning to thesame save file and picking up where you left of is important to keep in mindif you find yourself struggling.

8.

Choosing a Job to attempt a Solo Clear with

As of 6.58, every job has cleared Eureka Orthos solo. However, some jobsare easier or harder to achieve this feat with. For example, Tanks and Healerswill find it harder to stay on pace when progressing through later floorsets,as their damage output is lower than that of DPS jobs which will result in moretime taken per floor.

Unlike previous Deep Dungeons, the majority of the enemies within EurekaOrthos often deal minimal amounts of unavoidable damage to players. Instead, the challenge is found in the mechanics of the enemies and bosses, thelatter of which are much more involved than the bosses of previous Deep Dungeons. As such, survivability matters far less when choosing a job.

The jobs listed below are the main standouts at both ends of the difficultyscale for soloing Eureka Orthos.

  • Samurai
    • Samurai excels at consistent high damage, able to dash from enemy to enemyin floors and utilise its powerful offensive kit to quickly progress the dungeon. With Introduction to Eureka Orthos (18) Second Wind and Introduction to Eureka Orthos (19) Bloodbath at its disposal alongsidetheir fast killtimes, it can end up requiring fewer healing potions than otherjobs to clear.
  • Machinist
    • Machinist excels at kiting and burst damage, as well as highly useful crowdcontrol in the form of Introduction to Eureka Orthos (20) Head Graze, Introduction to Eureka Orthos (21) Leg Graze andIntroduction to Eureka Orthos (22) Foot Graze. Introduction to Eureka Orthos (23) Peloton is also an extremely valuable skill fornavigation through the floors, as the extra movement speed allows you totraverse floors faster. It also has an extra mitigation tool compared to theother physical ranged dps in Introduction to Eureka Orthos (24) Dismantle, making it evensafer.
  • Summoner
    • Summoner, like Machinist, excels in kiting and burst damage. UnlikeMachinist and most other jobs, it has no gauge it needs to build or resourcesit needs to manage beyond Introduction to Eureka Orthos (25) Fester charges, and can simply chainpull enemies rather than wait for cooldowns to come back before initiating. It also has a strong survivabiltiy tool with Introduction to Eureka Orthos (26) Radiant Aegis.
  • Red Mage
    • Red Mage is a very balanced job to take into Eureka Orthos, with good burstand access to healing in the form of Introduction to Eureka Orthos (27) Vercure as well as theability to Introduction to Eureka Orthos (28) Sleep mobs in an emergency.
  • Astrologian
    • Astrologian has the lowest personal dps of all jobs in the game, due tobeing designed around gaining a significant amount of its power fromfeeding teammates raid buffs such as its cards and Introduction to Eureka Orthos (29) Divinationin eight-player raids. As such, it is the hardest job to clear Eureka Orthoswith, and needs to make full use of both pomanders and strategies likeintentionally stepping on Landmines in order to clear floors fast enough to have achance of completing each floorset.
