When I asked my family what was for dinner this week as I filled out my weekly meal planner (get yours here), my son asked for these super quick and easy turkey Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. They take less than 15 minutes to make so they are perfect for a busy weeknight!

Nice and hardy with a mix of veggies, meat and ooey goose cheese and this hot sandwich will become a fan favorite. You might also like this baked pesto turkey sandwich too.

Budget-Friendly Meal

I picked up all the ingredients for this at Aldi for a total of $10.84 for 6 servings which makes each sandwich $1.81. Not only is this meal delicious but it’s budget-friendly too. Now that’s a win in my book!

So, now that you know that let’s get cooking, shall we?

Turkey Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich Ingredients

  • 1 lb. roasted turkey lunchmeat
  • 1 package sliced mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • 2 green peppers
  • 2 medium white onions
  • 1 package 6 count hoagie deli rolls
  • 4 T. butter (for sauteing)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

How To Make a Turkey Philly cheesesteak Sandwich

Start by sautéing 4 T. butter in a skillet. Then, thinly slice the green peppers and let them start to sauté. Slice up the onion and add to the skillet. Allow the peppers and onions to cook for 6-7 minutes.

Meanwhile, coarsely chop the turkey lunchmeat. After 6-7 minutes add to the skillet and allow to heat through along with the onions and green peppers.

Turn on the oven broiler. Scoop the Philly cheesesteak sandwich mixture generously onto a hoagie deli roll. Top with sliced cheese and place in the broiler for 3-5 minutes. Watch it carefully so that the cheese melts and the bread gets crispy but doesn’t burn.

Quick tip If you want a bit of cheese with every bite. Broil the cheese on the bun before spooning on the mixture!
